CelestronNexStar 130 SLT Telescope Review
CelestronNexStar 130 SLT Telescope is one of the latest super-efficient telescopes that come with computerized hand control system. Through the Sky Align technology that was used in manufacturing it, setting up and using the telescope is faster and easier than using the other types of telescopes. You no longer need to struggle in knowing the celestial objects’ names; just point the object-finder to three objects in the sky, and the telescope will name the objects for you. It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or an experienced person, you can use this telescope without any problem.
Optical Tube Alignment
It comes with a steel van spider that has for arms to support the secondary mirror. The thin steel van is tensioned by screws around the optical tube. This excellent fixation allows for proper viewing without degrading the image quality of the objects even after using the telescope for long. The focuser is enriched with adapters for both 1.25-inch eyepieces and 2-inch eyepieces which allows for competent viewing of even wide-field views.
Accuracy in Finding the Objects
This telescope comes with a red dot finder which accurately points the target objects in the sky thereby eliminating the probability of you naming the wrong objects. Its finder is also known to have a high release amount meaning you can view even the furthest planets and small stars clearly. It has high–quality 25mm and 9 mm eyepieces. The 25mm eyepieces give a magnification of x26 (650/25) and has a field view capability of only 2 degrees. Within the barrel close to the field lens, there is a plastic retainer that is very shinny. The retainer, therefore, happens to reduce the contrast when viewing the moon and to rectify this problem; you need to put a mat with black paint to reduce the shininess. The 9mm eyepieces, on the other hand, gives x72 (650/9) magnification and has a field view of 0.6 degrees.
Nextar 130 SLT telescope has an apparent field of view of 1.7 degrees and a linear field of view of 1000 yards. The computerized system database has space for over 4,000 objects. It has a focal length of 650mm which is far much better compared to the other old telescopes. The telescope also comes with a Motorized Altazimuth mount which ensures that adjust your position appropriately and conveniently to view the celestial objects that you want.
The Bottom Line
It is an excellent functioning telescope that has the best features to make your space objects finding work easier than before. Besides having a top-notch functioning system, it is made from high-quality parts that last for long without reducing in quality and efficiency. Point to any to any three celestial bodies of your choice and they will be named and presented to you clearly. Your work is just pointing the object-finder of the telescope to the target objects, the naming will be done by the telescope. You can use it even in bad weather environments like snow, rain, and dust; you will still get the best results.
